How it works

Wastewater doesn’t just disappear – it carries heat.

Even after use, wastewater typically remains between 16°C and 20°C. That makes it a stable, continuous source of low-carbon energy flowing beneath our feet.

We enable organisations to access and unlock this energy through proven heat recovery systems.

Using a combination of heat exchangers and heat pumps, thermal energy is captured from the sewer network and upgraded for use in heating systems – supplying buildings, campuses or district heat networks.

While every project is tailored to the specific site and energy demand, the approach is consistent:

  • Access the sewer network at the right location
  • Capture thermal energy using heat recovery technology
  • Deliver low-carbon heat into buildings or heat networks

We work closely with developers, local authorities and energy partners to ensure every scheme is technically viable, compliant and built for long-term performance.

From early feasibility through to delivery, we can help you turn hidden energy into a practical, low-carbon heat solution.
