Celebrating Our Modern Apprentices During Scottish Apprenticeship Week
07 March 2025
We’re celebrating Scottish Apprenticeship Week by shining a spotlight on our talented Modern Apprentices. They’re gaining invaluable hands-on experience, tackling real-world challenges, and making a difference in key projects that support sustainability, innovation, and the future of water infrastructure.

Chloe Sinet – Project Management in Design and Construction
Chloe is an integral member of the team, managing the early stages of water, sewer, and pumping station design and construction projects. From gathering project information and preparing tenders to reviewing contractor bids, Chloe ensures every project stays on track.
Chloe also oversees the fine-tuning of standard pumping station designs, making sure they’re ready for on-site installation. With her keen eye for detail and growing project management expertise, Chloe plays a key role in ensuring projects running smoothly from planning to delivery.

Cameron Clark – Renewables and Biodiversity
Cameron is making great strides in renewable energy, supporting the delivery of major solar PV and hydropower projects.
His commitment to sustainability shines through in his efforts to reduce waste, enhance biodiversity, and incorporate low-carbon materials into projects. His environmental work also involves collaborating with ecologists to implement wildlife protection measures. Recently he was recently named the Net Zero Scottish Apprentice of the Year in recognition of his contributions.

Jenna Mercer – Feasibility & Infrastructure Upgrades
Jenna is deeply involved in a variety of infrastructure projects, from feasibility studies to major upgrades. She has been instrumental in our Water Scarcity Private Water Supplies pilot, a Scottish Government initiative that aims to connect small rural communities to the public network, and is now taking several of these projects into the Design & Build stage.
Jenna is also supporting vesting and major infrastructure upgrades for housing developments. Her ability to manage diverse projects demonstrates her commitment to delivering results at every stage of the process.

Mckenzie Hainey – Water & Waste Water Infrastructure
Mckenzie has gained valuable, hands-on experience across Scottish Water Vesting projects, supporting housing developments across Scotland. He has developed excellent technical expertise in Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) clearance and pumping station upgrades.
Mckenzie also plays a key role in flow surveys, assessing drainage impacts for our consultancy work. Additionally, he represents the team in the Health & Safety at Work Group, ensuring that projects keep projects safe and compliant.

Zac Mooney – Hydropower & Renewables
Zac is making waves in hydropower, contributing to innovative projects that combine clean water and renewable energy. His hands-on project management experience has been vital in driving the planning and coordination of major hydropower projects to support our net zero ambitions.
Zac’s achievements were recognised when he won both the Scottish and UK-wide awards at the Pipeline Industries Guild’s Professional Development Network Competitions, showcasing his growing expertise in the renewables sector.
As we celebrate Scottish Apprenticeship Week, we’re proud of the exceptional achievements and contributions of our apprentices. Their dedication to shaping the future of renewables, sustainable water management and infrastructure is truly inspiring. We’re looking forward to watching them continue to make a difference in the years ahead!
